Eye Opening Common Core Presentation

Last evening I attended an event on Common Core.  I knew a little bit about Common Core, like everyone of my conservative friends were strongly against it, but I didn't have any real strong thoughts about it one way or another.

That changed during the presentation by Dr. Duke Pesta. Dr. Pesta is a professor at UW-Oshkosh and the academic director of Freedom Project Education.

His presentation was not a political attack against either the Democrats or Republicans, it was an eye opening 90 minutes of facts about the horrors of what is known as the Common Core State Standards Initiative.

Take a look at this how this student learned how to add 1,568 and 1,423 and 680.

The good news for Wisconsin residents is that there is hope that we can bring some common sense changes to improve the education of our children.  It's SB 619 and the lead sponsors are State Senators Leah Vukmir and Paul Farrow.  This fine bill removes ridiculous national dumbing down standards and will replace them with guidelines to help our youth succeed in life.

The Common Core State Standards Initiative need to be stopped.  If you have the opportunity to see a presentation by Dr. Pesta I'd suggest you invest the time.  Some of the items, especially the National Sex Ed Standards.
