law concerning school mascot and logo is moving along the process and that's a good thing.
Basically the change puts the burden of proof on those objecting to a logo rather than on the school system. Currently it only takes one person to start an investigation and probable change in a schools logo and name. That seems to be a pretty low bar for anything.
The new law would require those complaining to get a number equal to 10% of a districts enrollment to sign a petition before an investigation would be started. That doesn't sound like an unreasonable allocation.
I hope this bill moves quickly through both houses of the state government and finds the pen of the Governor.
