Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett looks like he's being held up here, but in reality he's the one holding up the citizens of Milwaukee.
According to JSOnline, "Milwaukee siphons water revenue to general fund". I say what the spit is going on here. The city is grabbing $12.1 million from the water fund to put into it's general fund and Milwaukee Water Works is asking for a rate increase because it doesn't have enough money.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same complaint the Mayor has lodged against Gov. Walker concerning the money from the national mortgage settlement the state received in 2012?
Is it really any wonder why the mayor has concerns about the residency law that may be passed this legislative session? And in case the mayor is wondering, the citizens in Milwaukee are not stupid when it comes to fees and taxes - they effect our pocket books the same.
