With the Democratic Party of Wisconsin convention coming up on June 12-13, I went to their website to check out the agenda. Here's something I found interesting.
This from "2008 DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF WISCONSIN RESOLUTIONS"
Approved by Convention June 14, 2008
43 08-JHD-23 Earmarked Funds (66 Words)
45 WHEREAS, earmarked projects exceed funding requested by government agencies and added over $18 billion
46 to the 2008 Federal budget;
48 WHEREAS, earmarked projects result in needless spending and leave less money available for real needs;
51 WHEREAS, earmarked funds are often tied to campaign contributions from the recipients to the legislative
54 THEREFORE, RESOLVED, the DPW supports legislation at State and Federal levels to eliminate earmarking
That is unless you control the state legislature and some of your legislators need an extra push for their re-election.
